Updated over a year ago

Everything you'll need to get started with Packfleet Pro can be found in Shopify.

Before getting started, make sure you've connected your Shopify store with Packfleet.

Then, navigate to the Packfleet App in Shopify to access Packfleet Pro, and select one of the sections (Profile, Appearance or Analytics).

Note: If you're using more than one brand with Packfleet Pro, you'll first want to go to Brands and select the Brand you want to customize.

Setting up the tracking pages

You can show tracking information on any page you create in Shopify.

  1. Create a new Page in your online store, click Edit website SEO and make note of the URL – we recommend /pages/tracking),

  2. Return to Packfleet Pro, go to Profile

  3. Update the Tracking URL Format using the URL from the page created in Step 1. You must to include the {{trackingNumber}} and {{carrierCode}} parameters, but are free to also include any other parameters that might helpful (eg UTMs)

    Example
    https://waystar-royco.com/pages/tracking?trackingNumber={{trackingNumber}}&carrierCode={{carrierCode}}&utm_medium=tracking-email

  4. Copy the Embed code to clipboard

  5. Return to the page created in Step 1, and click customize template

  6. Under Template, click Add Section, and choose Custom Liquid

  7. Select the Custom Liquid, paste in the Embed code and click Save.

Optional: to render the order items in a different part of the layout, insert the div with the id packfleet-pro-order-items as a separate Custom Liquid:

Your tracking pages are now available at the chosen URL.

Looking up tracking information using an Order Number

In addition to tracking a shipment using the carrier code and tracking number, you can track shipments by order number by specifying ?orderNumber={{orderNumber}} in the URL of the tracking page.

Example:

https://waystar-royco.com/pages/tracking?orderNumber=ORDER00001

Customizing the appearance of tracking pages

To preview what the tracking page will look like, head to Appearance, select a trigger on the left hand side, then select Embed at the top of the page. This will show you how the embedded tracking widget will appear with the colours you have selected.

You'll need to Save and Publish these changes to update the tracking pages.

Setting up email triggers

First, configure the Reply To and From email addresses under Profile – we'll use this when sending any email notifications on your brand's behalf.

Then, navigate to Pro – Appearance under your brand, and click Customize appearance to launch the editor.

The available triggers will be listed on the left. Select a trigger, make changes, and Save when you're ready.

Active and Inactive triggers

When an email trigger is inactive, no notifications will be sent for this trigger. This is useful when setting up a new template. When a template is ready and you'd like to enable it, set it to Active on the right hand side.

Saving and Publishing changes

When making changes, you can save work in progress at any time without taking the those change live. We'll highlight unpublished changes in orange. When you're ready to go live, click Publish – or discard the changes.

Using template variables

You have a number of template variables available to be used in any text field or link.

For example, to link to the tracking page, set the Href of a link to {{trackingURL}} .

Previewing changes

Click Preview to send a preview email to any email address and confirm everything looks as you've intended.

Analytics

To view the emails we've sent out so far, go to Analytics. You'll be able to filter the data by date, carrier, or notification status.

Lastly, for peace of mind – if this is your first time setting up Packfleet Pro, you can make any of the below changes without affecting live emails or tracking pages. When you're all set up and ready to go, let us know and we'll enable the feature for your customers.
