When using both ShipStation and Shopify we can take advantage of Packfleet’s deep integration with both to automatically assign Packfleet as the carrier to simplify your operations. This article assumes you have already connected your Packfleet account to both ShipStation and Shopify and also connected your ShipStation account to Shopify.
For more information on how to connect your accounts see the below links:
The first step is to update your Packfleet Shopify options to start automatically tagging orders that can be delivered by Packfleet. To achieve this follow the steps in this article
We now need to ensure that your Shopify order tags are passed through to ShipStation as this is not done by default. Log into your ShipStation dashboard
In ShipStation navigate to settings by pressing the gear icon in the top right
Then go to Import Orders > Selling Channels and find your Shopify store. Then press the ... icon and Edit Store Details
Once the store settings have loaded press Edit Shopify Settings and you should be shown a popup with the option for configuring Custom Field Mapping
In an unused custom field select Order Tag from the dropdown and press
Save
Now that we have passed the order tags through from Shopify to ShipStation we need to set up the automation rules which will assign the correct carrier when a new order comes through. Go to Automation > Automation Rules
Press Create a Rule
Define a new rule by first selecting Orders that match these specific criteria and adding a single criteria
The criteria should check that the custom field you mapped from the Order Tags contains the tag value you defined in the Shopify automated tags. For example see the screenshot below.
Then add a new action with the type Set Carrier/Service/Package and select the Packfleet service and Packfleet pack type
Finally press Save Rule which will activate the rule and apply it to newly created orders
