Packaging requirements and tips
Updated over a month ago

Your shipments should be packaged in a way so that they are able to withstand a fall from hip height to reduce the risk of damage during transit.

Here are some packaging techniques:

  • Use dividers and protect singular items. If you’re shipping multiple items in a pack, protect each item individually with dividers and corrugated inserts or sleeves.

  • Fill any empty spaces in a pack to minimise the chance of contents moving around in transit.

  • Use double walled boxes wherever possible, and be careful not to over or under fill them.

  • Ensure the label isn’t covering any seams, closures, corners or the sealing tape. We use the label for every step of the way so good placement is vital for a smooth experience.

Your packaging needs to be approved by us in order to be covered by DHL’s claims policy for deliveries outside of the M25. Please email [email protected] with images of your exterior and internal packaging, with an example of items that you ship.
